Fundraising
Each year a variety of events are organized by the Fundraising Committee of the Church.
The following events have taken place in the past - Silent Auctions, Craft Fayres, Concerts involving invited guests, Treasure Hunt and BBQ and Ceilidhs. Regular items which run throughout the year are "Smartie" collections which involves Church members saving their small change in smartie tubes and quizzes on a variety of topics.
Another source of revenue is the work of the "Chipmonks". This is a small team of men who, for a number of years, have made garden items such as bird tables, wishing wells, planters and nesting boxes to order. These sales have pulled in substantial funds.
We hope, during 2008, to organise two events along with the "Smartie" collection and quizzes. Although the main aim of the fundraising is to benefit the church financially, we also consider it to be part of Broomknoll's outreach programme. Many of the events organized are attended by non-Church members who appreciate the friendship, fun and fellowship shown within the church community.
On Friday 8 June, a concert was held in the Church hall when we were entertained by the choir of Rochsolloch Primary School. A great performance by the choir which was enjoyed by all who attended and we are grateful to the Head Teacher, her staff and parents.
